Welcome to the blog sharing the journey we are on of growing our family through adoption, as well as what life is like after the adoption has finalized.

There is a section where you can read some FAQs, check out the process we will be going through...as well as the blog posts filled with humor, joy, as well as probably some frustrations along the way!

Once again, welcome and let's enjoy the ride!!

Dinner...

In my home growing up dinner was the most important part of the day. We were all home together. If this meant dinner at 8pm to fit the practice schedules of three busy children then so be it! In Nick's family meals at holidays were of most importance because all things centered around eating were opportunities to bond. The cooking, the cleaning, the prepping, even the table setting was a chance to catch up with a cousin you haven't seen in a while. Now, with children, I understand this all the more. When I'm cooking the boys seem to know that they just aren't going to have my undivided attention so I sort of get a bit of peace for that time. Then, when I'm cleaning the kitchen and the dishwasher is swooshing at the end of the night I have a sense of peace and accomplishment. Even more importantly the fun we have during the meal! When all 4 of us are done eating we engage in silly looks, songs, and games that can't even be described. I could take a picture but that wouldn't capture the sounds. I could take video but even that wouldn't suffice as it wouldn't capture the emotions. If you could catch a glimpse of these moments you would know that we are bonding, the boys are attaching, and we are becoming a family. Communion...it bonds us as family and as friends.
