The mom voice...

The last three days or so have been the end of the honeymoon phase and the beginning of the all so important testing and setting boundaries...sigh, what work it is! Nick's been back to work for the majority of the days so mom's been the rule maker and enforcer. At dinner tonight I was telling Nick about how well they are responding to my "uh-oh" phrase and that he should try using it more. The funny thing is Nick hasn't really had a chance to tie a consequence to that phrase yet. So, at dinner daddy said "uh-oh, please use your inside voice when we are having dinner" neither one even flinched but just kept talking sooo loud. Nick glanced at me and repeated the phrase in his best high pitched mommy voice "uh-oh,please use your inside voice when we are having dinner." I could barely contain my laughter when both stopped, looked at daddy and continued in a soft voice! I'm sure it was a random fluke a chance that it happened this way but it still was quite funny.
